Calculators and Planning Tools
Production Calculators and Planning Tools
These production calculators put working engineering math in your browser, built on methods from ASME practice and shop-floor reality. Free calculators and checklists for the decisions that get made too early: how big the glycol system needs to be, whether the capacity plan is achievable, whether the electrical service is adequate, and what the permit path actually looks like. Use them before the quotes harden.
Production Calculators Available

Calculators
Interactive Calculators
Sizing, cost modelling, and planning. These are built to frame the conversation with your engineer, lender, or vendor. They do not replace engineering review.
CIP Chemical Dosing Calculator
Convert target caustic, acid, or PAA strength into stock chemical volume, verification targets, and cost per wash cycle.
Wastewater Surcharge Estimator
Turn discharge volume and BOD/TSS strength into your estimated monthly and annual sewer surcharge, with pretreatment what-ifs.
Glycol Load Calculator
Estimate glycol chiller capacity requirements based on tank volume, simultaneous cooling load, fermentation heat generation, and insulation. Helps right-size glycol systems before equipment quotes harden.
Batch Capacity Planner
Pressure-test throughput assumptions, scheduling constraints, and tank or line bottlenecks. Enter your batch size, cycle time, and tank count to see if your capacity plan is achievable.
Electrical Load Estimator
Estimate total electrical demand for a production facility. Helps identify when a service upgrade is needed before lease signing or equipment deposits, and sizes the service entrance for a new facility design.
ROI and Financial Analyzer
Model ROI for capital projects, equipment upgrades, and automation investments as plant-level decisions, not spreadsheet exercises. Frame the payback conversation before approaching lenders or partners.
Regulatory Compliance Checklist
Identify the regulatory approval path for your facility or product. Helps teams understand TTB, FDA, state, and local requirements early, before the permit timeline becomes the critical path constraint.
Custom Tool Request
Need a calculator, model, or planning tool that does not exist here? Describe your project scenario and Solon can build a custom tool: brewery financial model, process sizing sheet, or project planning template.
Checklists
Preparation Checklists
Each one collects the information a proper review needs, so the first conversation starts from facts instead of guesses.
Beverage facility planning
Gather your product, capacity, utility, controls, and handoff assumptions before you commit to a building or a layout.
Cleaning system review
Organize circuit lists, cycle parameters, chemistry, instrumentation, records, and the symptoms you are seeing before a sanitation review.
Automation scope
Collect states, permissives, PLC, HMI and SCADA assumptions, alarms, IO, vendor boundaries, and acceptance test criteria.
Equipment procurement
Check fit, utilities, controls interfaces, vendor exclusions, acceptance criteria, documentation, and startup handoff before the purchase order goes out.

When a Tool Is Not Enough
If the checklist raised more questions than it answered, that is the tool working. Here is where to go next.
Facility planning guide
Read this if you are still defining production targets, layout, utilities, and startup assumptions and want the full picture before committing capital.
Cleaning and sanitation review
Go here if you have cycle data, records, and symptoms and need someone to work out why the cleaning is not passing.
Automation consulting
Go here if you need to settle controls strategy, the questions to put to an integrator, and what acceptance should mean.
Questions About the Tools
Are these a replacement for engineering review?
No. They are preparation aids. They organize your assumptions so that the engineering review you eventually pay for starts from real numbers instead of a blank page, and so you can spot an obvious problem before it costs money.
Are they free, and do I have to give you my details?
They are free to use. Nothing is gated behind a form.
How accurate are the calculator results?
Accurate enough to tell you whether a plan is plausible and whether a quote is in the right range. They are not stamped engineering calculations and should never be used as the sole basis for a purchase or a construction decision.
Can you build a tool we need that is not here?
Yes. Describe the scenario through the custom tool request and Solon can build a brewery financial model, a process sizing sheet, or a project planning template for your specific case.
Use the Tools to Prepare a Better Conversation
Send the project type, your current assumptions, and the decision you are trying to make. Solon will point you at the right tool or, if the question has outgrown a calculator, the right review.
